The 15-second explainability rule cuts through so much noise because if sales can't articulate it fast, procurement will definitely choke on it. I've been in situations where we had a "value metric" that required a spreadsheet to justify, and it killed momentum every singel time. The insight about secondary metrics being upgrade drivers is underrated too.
